This week I have been practicing these 3 basic facts:

14-5=9, 11-6=5, 8-4=4

Here is my Xtramath result:

You can see that I have learnt most of my facts this week because getting                                      

better at subtraction.

I also wrote a number story for my basic facts.  Here is one:

1.Jack had 14 jellybeans. He ate 5 jellybeans. Jack now has 9 left.

2.A man bought 11 mini packets of chips. The man gave out  

3.Sally found $8. On her way to school she lost $4. She has $4 left.

You will see that I have got two of my three facts right and one wrong. 7 - 5 = 2.

Past Education

I learnt that in the olden days the teachers weren't allowed to dye their hair.

The author Des Hunt came to visit us today. He used chemisty and physics to teach us about writing. He made it interesting and fun. I learnt characters show emotions like love and hate about writing.

My Xtramath results Subtraction

I am getting better at my subtraction.

Tricks in Advertisements popplet

We have been learning about Advertisements and we have made a Popplet. I have learnt that they only cook a pattie for 20 seconds on each side in an Advertisement because they do not want the pattie to shrink.

My Ink Handwriting

We did Handwriting with a toothpick and ink because we have been learning about the olden days compared to the now days. I found it hard because the ink kept drying up and I kept dipping the toothpick back in the ink. 

What we know about schooling: Then and now

Today we compared schooling in the olden days with schooling now to see what has changed and what hasn't. Here are our ideas:
