Summer Holiday Learning Journey - Day 1!
Today was the first day of the summer learning journey project. The summer learning journey is a holiday challenge that will take us around the world to learn new and interesting things! There were six main countries across the 6 different continents. The country I wanted to visit and focus on was Chile. Did you know that Chile is the longest country in world, reaching 2,647 miles long!(4,259 km) Also, until 2005, married couples were not allowed to have an divorce. Chile has had the lowest divorce rate globally. In 2006 January, Michelle Bachelet became first ever woman president for Chile!

Good to see you on the journey Sebastian. Chile sounds like a fun place to visit.
Good morning Sebastian! I am thrilled to see that you have chosen to visit Chile. It is a beautiful country and it is also very progressive. I love that they first elected a female president back in 2006. New Zealand actually elected a female prime minister (Helen Clark) years before this but it is nice to see that a country in South America is also providing opportunities for women in politics!
It's great to see that you learned a bit more about the size and location of Chile as well. It is a very, very long country. I hope to get there one day to see if for myself!
Enjoy your online travels through Chile. It should be a wonderful adventure...
Cheers,
Rachel
