Maths DLO

Last week my maths group learnt a new strategy to solve larger division problem more efficient by breaking the bigger number into two numbers that can be divided easily.

Run, Jump and Throw

Today room 5 did run jump and throw. Andy our instructor taught us how to run like a pro. She said we would need to follow these rules: Look straight, High knees, Stand tall, Cheek to Cheek with your arms and light feet. Also she taught us the difference between long distance words and short distances words. She said that on long distance they don't say get set. Mrs Anderson our teacher recorded us doing drills so then we can compare it to other people.

Maths Word Problems.

Last week my maths group learnt a new strategy to solve larger division problems by breaking up the larger number so that it is easier to divide. I then made this Google Drawing to explain the whole strategy.

Online Challenges

Today I played some maths games. This one was the best and most fun math game. Its a football game and every time you make a pass then you answer a question about division. You then keep going until the time has run out and you haven't made a pass.

Blog Commenting

Today I commented in Jacob's paying it forward experience and what he did to pay it forward.

Paying it Forward Task

This week our homework task was to to pay it forward to others. By doing this last night I helped my cousins and auntie pack there bags so that they can get to the airport on time. This took about ten to fifteen minutes. My auntie felt happy and glad that she had some help from me. I also felt happy that I paid it forward.

Should New Zealand Have Breakfast in Schools?

In writing, our topic was, "Should New Zealand Have Breakfast in Schools?" We found out some information about this and others opinions and facts. Then we use this information to put it into a ifaketext and have a conversation with a buddy. After that we translated this text into a direct speech.

“Hi Shantay, What do you think about breakfast in schools? I think it’s a great Idea, what about you?” questioned Sebastian.
Shantay replied, “I think that is a great idea because some children are going to school hungry, tired and exhausted because they haven’t had a healthy breakfast.”
“Also how would you feel is you went to school starving and tired not wanting to do school work. There are around 15% of children leaving for school without breakfast!” stated Sebastian.
“Thats a really good reason. I really think New Zealand should have breakfast in schools because it’s better for the community and for the children.” remarked Shantay confidently.
